Golf Injuries: A Review

McHardy A, Pollard H Golf injuries; A review, Sports Medicine 2005

Golf is one of a few activities that people of all ages and skill level can play. Due to this widespread appeal, many people of differing ages and ability play golf. Injuries, particularly to the musculoskeletal system can occur frequently. The aim of this review is to examine the available literature on the epidemiology of golf injuries, and report on the differences in injury location and mechanism seen in the professional golfer when compared to the amateur golfer. It is a further aim to determine areas of common injury and where possible, discuss the likely mechanism of the injuries that occur in golfers.
