Dr Dean R Innis
BSc (Syd Uni) MCh (Maq Uni) PhD (candidate - Macq Uni)


Dr Dean R Innis was appointed Clinical Fellow in 2003 and overseas the day to day management of the Macquarie University Clinics and Research Centres in the Department of Health and Chiropractic, Macquarie University . He graduated from Sydney University in 1996 where he completed Majors in Anatomy, Physiology and Neuroscience. Dean then proceeded to a Master of Chiropractic completing his thesis “Rotator Cuff injury in swimmers” and graduated in 1998. He is currently a PhD candidate with research focus of injuries in athletes.
Dr Innis began teaching in the Department of Health and Chiropractic, Macquarie University in 2001. He has presented in the areas of Rehabilitation, Spinal and Peripheral Manipulative Technique, Biomechanics, Pre-clinical studies and History and Philosophy of Health to both undergraduate and post-graduate students.
Upon graduating, Dr Innis has been in private practice in Sydney ’s northern districts where He specializes in the treatment of Sport related injury and is currently team Chiropractor for the professional NBL basketball team the West Sydney Razorbacks.
Dr Innis was privileged to be a member of the international FICS team of Chiropractors that served athletes at the Sydney 2000 Olympics, has provided chiropractic services for the Sydney Kings 2001/2002 and 2004 (part year) and is a an accredited Chiropractor for the Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) International and is contracted for event coverage around the world.


RESEARCH:
Current and ongoing study and research for my PhD.
“Documentaion and investigation of injuries, prevention and chiropractic management in professional sport” Current lab work includes the measurement and collation of data on dopamine fluctuations resulting from the Chiropractic adjustment.
