Allan Kalamir

Mr Allan Kalamir is currently a Senior Tutor in Spinal Technique Skills at Macquarie University. He graduated from Sydney University in 1993 with a bachelor of Science majoring in Anatomy and Physiology. He then went on to Macquarie University and graduated in 1996 with a Master of Chiropractic degree. Mr Kalamir is currently enrolled in a Master of Science honours program at Macquarie University and intends to continue on to a PhD.

Mr Kalamir has taught Anatomy, Biomechanics and Myofascial Release Technique at a tertiary level, and is a guest lecturer at Macquarie University on Temporomandibular Biomechanics and Orthopedics. He has maintained successful chiropractic practices in Zagreb Croatia and in Sydney Australia and continues to work in private practice in Edensor Park, where he co-manages many jaw pain patients with local dentists.

Mr Kalamir’s research interest lies in the conservative and biopsychosocial management of temporomandibular disorder, and his current project involves investigating the combined effects of education and manual therapy of the jaw on jaw pain and dysfunction.

He has presented his project to peer review panels at Macquarie University and to the Chiropractor’s Alumni Annual General Meeting in Sydney 2005. He is a member of the Chiropractors and Osteopaths College of Australasia (COCA), and is affiliated with the Macquarie Injury Management Group (MIMG).
