Assoc Professor Henry Pollard

A/Prof Henry Pollard BSc, GradDipChiro, GradDipAppSc, MSportSc, PhD, ICSSD, FCC

Dr Henry Pollard is a practicing sports chiropractor and clinical scientist based in Sydney. He is owner and director of a chiropractic clinic located in the Southern Sydney suburbs of Cronulla. Besides, general and sports chiropractic the clinic specialises in the management of musculoskeletal disorders of the knee, shoulder and ankle.

Dr Pollard graduated with a BSc from University of NSW with major in Anatomy in 1985. He then completed a Graduate Diploma in Chiropractic from the Sydney College of Chiropractic in 1986. Following his chiropractic studies he graduated from Cumberland College of Health Sciences (Sydney University) with a Graduate Diploma in Exercise and Sport Science in 1991. A Master of Exercise and Sport Science was attained in 1994 from Sydney University. In 2000 Dr Pollard was awarded a PhD from the Department of Biomedical Sciences, Wollongong University. More recently he was awarded an International Diploma of Chiropractic Sports Sciences from the federation of International Sports Chiropractors and Fellowship status with the College of Chiropractors (England) in 2005.

Dr Pollard has been in private clinical practice for the last 20 years.
He is an Independent Chiropractic Consultant for WorkCover NSW. In addition he is the Director of the Cronulla Chiropractic and Sports Injury Centre and the Director of Research for the ONE Research Foundation, Encinitas California USA.

Dr Pollard is a senior lecturer in the Department of Health and Chiropractic Macquarie University and is Director of Research there. He has been an academic at Macquarie for 15 years and teaches in the areas of sport medicine, clinical management and research.

His basic research interests involve the validation of chiropractic private practice through the investigation and documentation of outcomes with various research designs. His research interests include sports medicine, clinical & sports chiropractic, diagnosis, epidemiology of injury, manual therapy, OHS and rehabilitation.

In addition, he is the Vice President of the Chiropractic and Osteopathic College of Australasia (COCA) and the founder of the Macquarie Injury Management Group (MIMG).

He has presented at numerous conferences nationally and internationally in the fields of Chiropractic, Sports Medicine and Research.
