Department of Chiropractic

Seminars

Throughout the year the Department of Chiropractic holds specialised seminars for Chiropractic students, staff, alumni and members of the community. Each semester academics and students organise special guest speakers to come and present to the chiropractic peer group with industry knowledge and insight into the chiropractic profession. The department has been privileged in the past to host talks from industry professionals such as Dr. Anthony Rosner, Mr Allan Kalamir, Mr Anthony Nicholson and many more. The department is also pleased to have had their very own academics present seminars in the field of their ongoing research.

Technique Revision Workshop April 2012

A Technique Revision Workshop (formerly known as Vacation Supervised Practice) will be in the mid-semester break in April 2012. These sessions will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays 10, 12, 17, 19 April 2012 from 10 am to 12 noon, in the E5A level 3 Skills Labs. These offerings are outside of the Curriculum, totally optional and by no means obligatory. No new material will be offered. These are opportunities for students to maintain their Manual Chiropractic Skills level during breaks, if they so desire.

How to organise a seminar for the student body

  1. Visiting Speaker Form to be completed and given to Stephney Whillier for approval from Head of Department
  2. Contact the U@MQ (9850 7779) for on-campus room bookings. Students are required to show the approved Visiting Speaker form to U@MQ.
  3. U@MQ will let the student know when the room has been booked. They will also advise the department of confirmed bookings.
  4. When students wish to book an off-campus room (i.e Lane Cove Road Training Room), they should give the completed Visiting Speaker Form to Stephney Whillier for approval. When approved, they should book through the online room booking system at Office of Facilities Management (OFM) and specify that they have permission from the Chiropractic Department to book the room.
