Bachelor of Health or BA/BSc-Psychology BHealth degrees
Dear Students,
I am writing to let you know about a change in the study pattern for your degree that resolves the problem of ANTH377 (a core unit in the degree) only being offered in alternate years (i.e. in 2007, 2009, etc).
It is now possible for students to choose ANY 300-level ANTH unit to 'replace' ANTH377 in the years when the latter unit is not offered for study. So, for those students who are planning to complete their studies in 2008, but who have not yet completed ANTH377 (and have just discovered that the unit is not offered in 2008), you may choose another 300-level ANTH unit in its stead.
Please note that we would encourage students to complete ANTH377 wherever this is possible, as the unit's content is very relevant to the field of Health Studies. Many students will be able to do so as the unit is/will be offered in the 'right' year for your normal study plans (i.e. in 2007, 2009, etc). For some others, especially part-timers, you might be able to re-arrange your study plans to enable you to take ANTH377 in an 'earlier' or 'later' year in your studies (you can do so as long as you meet the unit's prerequisites when you wish to enrol in it). But for quite a few of you neither of these options will be possible; that is why we have changed the study pattern to enable you to take another 300-level ANTH unit instead of ANTH377, which in turn will enable you to complete your degree in the minimum possible time.
I hope I have explained this change clearly, but please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any queries about it. At the moment it is best to contact me by email as I am on study leave this semester and hence not in my campus office very often.
With best wishes
Lindie Clark
