Department of Chiropractic

New Students

You will need to successfully completed the Bachelor of Chiropractic or the Qualifying Program into the Master of Chiropractic before you can enrol into the master of chiropractic.

Submitting an application

New Students wanting to apply into the Bachelor of Chiropractic need to submit an application into UAC (Universities Admission Centre). When you submit your application, it is recommended that you add the Bachelor of Science at Macquarie University as a second preference.  This program of study contains a major of Human Anatomy and Physiology and means that you are able to complete all of the same studies (except the Chiropractic Technique and Histology units). Macquarie University is a unique institution as you are able to transfer between degrees internally (more information is in our undergraduate handbook or the Undergraduate Studies website).

There are certain cut off dates which applicants need to adhere to in order to apply into this degree. Check UAC regularly to make sure that you apply on time.

Entrance into the Undergraduate degree is competitive and is based on academic merit. You need to meet the UAI in order to be eligible for entrance into the course. It is recommended but not a prerequisite that you study Mathematics (Band 2) plus Chemistry (Band 3) plus Biology (Band 2) plus Physics. Students with no HSC Chemistry and minimal mathematics can take units at first year level which will enable them to acquire the above recommended knowledge. If you don't take Physics at HSC level, you will be required to do PHYS159 which is a general introduction to physics.
