Open Day 2006
Macquarie held its annual Open Day event on Saturday 10 September 2006. On a weekend where Sydney experienced some of the heaviest rainfall in months, we experienced one of our busier Open Day events! Thank you to those potential students and their parents that braved the weather to come and talk with us about both our Health and Chiropractic programmes.
Open Day is the major event of the Macquarie University calendar. It combines advice on courses and careers with museum visits, demonstrations and activities to give future students and members of the community a real taste of university life! Details of our activities can be viewed at our website: http://www.openday.mq.edu.au/ .
As well as our information booths, a number of postgraduate and undergraduate students donated part of their weekend in order to conduct posture analysis for interested members of the public and answer questions about studying chiropractic at Macquarie from a student perspective. We were also able to organise small tours of some of our chiropractic facilities. A special thank you to the President of MUCSA, Ms Chana Sztajer, for organising her fellow peers, and of course to our students: Jessie Nah, Natasha Sharp, Michael Corben, William Farrell, Shannon Casinto, Alex Pak, Klaus Roberg, Matt Bailey, Aleksander Chaibli, Jeanette Bent, Jessica Hambly, Karen Chan and Reidar Lystad.
The Department of Health and Chiropractic would like to thank all of the members of staff that donated part of their weekend to participate – Prof Curson, Ms Clark, Dr Eaton, Dr Engel, Mr Rigney, Dr Beirman, Dr Bull, Mr Lord and Ms Handley. Congratulations also to Megan Etheridge, the Public Relations team and the University Outreach Committee for co-ordinating this successful event.
The following thumbnails show some of the activity at our information booths, also available for downloading is Dr Sharyn Eaton’s lecture on Chiropractic and beyond in pdf format.
