Department of Chiropractic
Undergraduate Studies in Chiropractic
Bachelor of Chiropractic science
The Bachelor of Chiropractic Science is a three year, full time degree program, which covers a range of chiropractic diagnostic and manipulative skills on a background of anatomical, physiological and biomedical science studies. It is a prescribed program which provides a strong scientific foundation and includes units in anatomy, physiology, microbiology, histology and pathology.
Students who are successful in completing this program may continue onto the Master of Chiropractic. Whilst the undergraduate program provides a foundation in the human sciences, it is the completion of the Masters program that allows for registration and practice as a Chiropractor.

Program Information
The university carried out a major review of the undergraduate curriculum in 2009. The outcomes of this review are being implemented in 2010 in the first year units only (and in 2011 for second year units and 2012 for third year units).
Depending on whether you are commencing your degree in 2010 or you commenced in 2009 or prior years, the units in your program will defer. Click on the links below for the program that relates to you.
- Bachelor of Chiropractic Science (Program with units listed)
For Students commencing from 2010 onwards - Bachelor of Chiropractic Science (Program with units listed)
For Students who commenced in 2009 or prior years
Recommended prior knowledge
HSC Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and Physics are recommended studies for Chiropractic units although introductory units and bridging courses are available for students without this background. Students with no HSC Chemistry or Chemistry below Band 4 will be required to take at least one additional unit at first year level which will enable them to acquire the above recommended knowledge. Other units taken as part of a degree may require assumed knowledge, prerequisites or recommended studies.
If you have already completed a Science based Degree and you want to further your studies and become a Chiropractor, instead of applying into the Bachelor of Chiropractic Science; you might want to consider applying into the Graduate Diploma in Chiropractic Science.
